What Is Trees For Schools?

It is a project run by The Native Woodland Trust, sponsored by Wyeth and with media support from Independent Newspapers.

We are donating 30 free native trees to primary schools countrywide. We want as many schools as possible to participate to make this a success and to create a small native woodland on their school grounds. This will help the environment and teach children from a young age all about trees.

You can choose from 3 different bundles of trees depending on the size of the space available in your school. We will then post out the trees to your school in the days prior to your tree planting event. All of the trees will be small initially, so they will be easy to plant. We will also send you a full colour booklet detailing how to plant your trees and how to identify each one.

In addition, we will send you an A3 poster to put up in a common area of the school inviting volunteers to help on your designated tree planting day.

To order your trees, just download your application form (Application form will be available from Saturday 13th December), see the Irish Independent on Thursday 11th December 2008 for an early copy of the application form).
